Researching across intersections of visual language, critical publishing, and digital media environments. Continuously learning – currently as a PhD fellow at the London School of Film, Media and Design, UWL (UK). Actively contributing to stanza – project space & studio for critical publishing (DK). Creatively co-directing fanfare – artistic research collective for broken channels of interlinked communications (NL).

Broken Channel

Broken Channelsintroduces the first annual public research programme initiated, organized, programmed, and designed by fanfare.
Taking as our starting point the crumbling canals, invisible communications and entangled infrastructures that surround the Amsterdam based fanfare, Broken Channels invited the public to join us for a three-day research programme for critically and collectively questioning our dependence on efficient transmissions and learn and relearn old and new forms of navigation and communication.

Through talks, presentations, dinners and workshops the programme engages with self-built tools for translation, a sonic tour of the city’s bridge infrastructure, quantum futures, the history of prediction, and alternative modes of listening.

Curation, design and concept by the fanfare team:
Freja Kir, Agustina Woodgate, Andrea González, César Rogers, Charlie Clemoes
Website programmed and designed by: Bram van den Berg
Documentation by Guus Kaandorp

Broken Channels 1 contributions: Andoni Zamora, Anna Celda, Ben Cerveny, Chiara di Leone, Gemma Luz Bosch, Jack Bardwell, Jasna Veličković, Jürg Lehni, Kian van der Enden, Le Bateau, Lukas Engelhardt, Mariagrazia Iuliano, Raphäel Bastide, Shannon Mattern, Wouter Stroet
