Playground of the In-Between

On invitation by the Palace of Typographic Masonry design and jingles were developed for the exhibition “An Alphabet of Cases” at Graphic Days in Turin, Italy, 2021.

Based on questions given to all contributors of The Palace of Typographic Masonry, the contribution titled “Playground of the in-between” playfully presents a soundscape and set of jingles and 14 vocal advertisements that hijack and play a part in the official museum audio tour. With an ironical twist, the jingles touch on working conditions, ideal commissions and value. Listen here.

The Palace of Typographic Masonry is an imaginary museum for graphic design. Within the narrative of a building with nine departments (Sign, Symbol, Ornament, Construction, Poetics, Game, Order, Craft and Practice), the project continuously develops new additions in which a certain aspect of graphic design is highlighted. The Palace is initiated by Richard Niessen.
