Broken Channel

Broken Channelsintroduces the first annual public research programme initiated, organized, programmed, and designed by fanfare.
Taking as our starting point the crumbling canals, invisible communications and entangled infrastructures that surround the Amsterdam based fanfare, Broken Channels invited the public to join us for a three-day research programme for critically and collectively questioning our dependence on efficient transmissions and learn and relearn old and new forms of navigation and communication.

Through talks, presentations, dinners and workshops the programme engages with self-built tools for translation, a sonic tour of the city’s bridge infrastructure, quantum futures, the history of prediction, and alternative modes of listening.
